New calf
Buy in a load
A trailer of cattle in one save — tags them, groups them, and posts the purchase to the books.
Young stock still counts as a calf automatically from its birth date.
Health alerts
Live smart tags
Every tag the barn gateways can hear — ear temp, movement, battery, and which yard she's in.
Alert thresholds
Each cow is judged against her own recent baseline. Tune the lines here — no code changes.
Herd groups
Breeding exposures
Live cover: put a group in with one or more bulls — every bull in the pasture is a potential sire for the calves that follow.
Talk it in
Say what happened. Example: "Mama cow #35 had a bull calf, I tagged it #2636 and banded it today."
Needs review
Nothing waiting.
Today's mix
Pick the groups you're feeding. Each starts at what it got last time — nudge it up or down for refusals or a bump. Groups on the same recipe share a mixer load until it's full.
To record
Loads sent to the mixer that nobody has said were fed yet. Open one to fill in what actually went in.
Recipes
Feedstuffs
Everything you feed — forages, grain, mineral, bicarb. Recipes and bunks both pick from this list.
What was fed
Every feeding by day and by group. Pick a date, or leave it blank for the last two weeks.
Feed on hand
Totals by feedstuff. The bunks underneath are just where it's stored.
Feed one feedstuff
For anything fed straight, without mixing — baleage or dry hay dropped to a group on its own.
Fields
Name and acres. Acres are what turn harvest tonnage into tons per acre, so they are worth getting right.
Acres split
These fields had two feedstuffs come off them in one season — silage until the bunk filled, the rest as high moisture corn, say. Say how the acres divided and the yields sort themselves out. Nothing to enter while you are harvesting.
Yield by field
Tons per acre each year, worked out from the harvest log — nothing extra to enter.

Corn silage harvest planner
How much to chop this fall. Starts from your live herd count and saved defaults — change anything and it refigures.
What the feed can carry
Buy-and-sell math from the feed side: on-hand plus what you'll chop, divided by what the herd eats.
Fix a bunk's number
Pick a bunk to see what the system has for it.
Everything that is in it — not what you just added.
Paid
Uncheck if it is on account
With a cost on it this posts a Feed purchased expense to the books along with the delivery — one entry, nothing to type twice.

Report library
Every report prints on the letterhead — tap to open, then Print / Save PDF.
Import herd from Excel
Upload your Herd Database workbook. It reads the Animal Records sheet — tag, dam, class, pen, dates — shows you a preview, and only writes when you confirm. Existing tags are never duplicated.
Export & backup
Download your data as Excel — for archiving, or a monthly backup you keep off-site.
People & access
Add logins for your crew, and reactivate anyone locked out after too many wrong passwords.
